I have come to the conclusion that only ex's who have compassion, respect, and honesty for one another can be friends. Perhaps its takes time, but it can happen. Just not with my ex, unfortunately.

One bra size too small AND low cut shirts, perhaps a mini (totally inappropriate at work), but how far does she want to push the slut-factor??

Normally I would say that, no, former lovers can not be friends. I have however found an exception; when a friend of mine went through a life changing experience 2 very interesting things happened: the first is the men she had important relationships with came back to her and gave her support in some lovely ways. They helped her through her depression and used the personal information learned during their relationship for good. The shorthand was there and their presence was comforting.
The second thig is that the men with whom she had less important relationships pissed her off and set her off in ways she was not able to deal with during her life changing experience. She managed to cut most of them off pretty darn quick.
Caring about someone doesnt go away into the ether, and old lovers should not have to either--once some time has passed.

But Tsar, to have an online brand, one must actually have a product to advertise! Are these anonymous online trollers really successful? I'm aghast. If so, what does that say about us women? Are we in such a drought we'll even drink water from an unknown source?

Dear Mr. Online dater,
You make a fine point - Miss Online Dater has made her fair share of mistakes. Perhaps Woman vs. Date needs to take a look at her peers to see what tips we could share with the ladies. Now seriously, please do put that shirt back on. And no, not the tight tee shirt with humorous graphic.
Yours,
MindDaGap

wait wait wait a minute... put our shirts on? Stop showing SOOOO much cleavage and then saying that you're not that type of girl! And what's wrong with spending time in front of a mirror? Maybe if some of the women actually did that maybe they wouldn't have such an unjustified, high opinion of themselves.

Every relationship I've had (give or take a nasty break-up here and there) I tried to remain friends with the ex. Here I am, years later, not knowing where any of them are except the one I ended up marrying. I agree that the stronger the love is, the harder it is to maintain a friendship. That's not to say it should be avoided...just entered into with caution for one's heart.
